BioFarmer's daughter. Home-schooled and boarding school. Went to university and did a Bachelor of Arts; went to another university and did a PhD (medieval lit). Didn't do much with it. Married with four kids. Practising Christian (evangelical and attend an Anglican church); member of the Bible Society in Australia. Belong to Australian Conservation Foundation, also World-Wide Fund for Nature.
Favourite composer ever: J S Bach; second favourite, Monteverdi. Favourite artists: Rembrandt, Monet, Van Gogh, Marc Chagall, William Robinson, Albert Namatjira, and modern Australian indigenous painters - the Desert School. Favourite authors: Dante, Jane Austen. Also like George Macdonald, D L Sayers, G K Chesterton, J R R Tolkien, Elie Wiesel, Chaim Potok. Enjoy Terry Pratchett's discworld novels and Lois McMaster Bujold's 'Miles Vorkosigan' space operas; enjoy the 'Harry Potter' series by J K Rowling, like the books more than the movies though the third movie was pretty good. Favourite modern theologians - Jacques Ellul; also David Bentley Hart "The Beauty of the Infinite'; also enjoy the Jewish writer Abraham Heschel. Liked the Babylon 5 tv series. Favourite movies: Peter Weir's "Fearless", and Kryzstof Kieslowski's "Three Colours: Blue, White, Red". Favourite movie directors - Peter Weir and Kieslowski. Favourite cartoonists - Thelwell (Englishman), Joliffe (Australian). Used to really enjoy Lynn Johnston's For Better or For Worse cartoon series but have gotten very disappointed with it lately.
In the suburb where I live there aren't too many people I can discuss much of this stuff with.
